STALLONE CURT
FOUNDER | PERFORMER | FACILITATOR
Since the age of 15, Stallone Curt (The Sunsetting Kidd) has been no stranger to a stage, crowd or showcase. Coming from a family of musical talent; Stallone brings his own unique, energetic, passionate and real-life stories to every project that he delivers. He remains focused and determined to bring a positive presence of change to every community that he visits. Whether it is his hip hop or traditional flute performances, Stallone always leaves a lasting impact to those around him.

CO-FOUNDER | PRODUCER | FACILITATOR

Joshua “Classic Roots” DePerry is an Indigenous DJ, music producer, and performer of
Ojibwe/Blackfoot heritage. Hailing from Thunder Bay (Long Lake 58 First Nation) and now
based in Toronto, he’s celebrated for fusing electronic music with traditional Indigenous
rhythms. His high-energy sets light up dance floors while serving as a vibrant expression of
cultural pride, resilience, and innovation.

ARTIST | FACILITATOR
Drezus has been a staple in the Indigenous music scene for over a decade. Born in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan, Canada and from the Muskowekwan and Cote First Nations respectively,
Drezus has opened up a new world that combines traditional Anishinaabe and Nehiyaw
teachings with hip-hop music and expression. He credits his growth and perseverance through
life's challenges to the creative arts. He won five Indigenous Music Awards from 2013-2015,
was nominated for a Juno in 2009 and most recently won a MTV Video Music award for “Best
Fight Against the System” in 2017 with Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas. He appears on the
acclaimed Paramount Network TV series, “Yellowstone” alongside Kevin Costner in Season 2.
He is currently working on his third studio album entitled Public Enemy, slated for release in
February 2020.

FEMALE LEAD | ARTIST | FACILITATOR
Natasha Fisher is an Anishinaabe singer, songwriter and producer based in Toronto, Ontario. Originally from Thunder Bay and a proud member of Long Lake #58 First Nation, Fisher blends alternative pop and pop rock with emotionally charged storytelling that reflects both her lived experience and creative evolution.
As a full-time musician and creator, Fisher has built a reputation for her compelling songwriting and raw vocal performances. Her music explores themes of self-discovery, mental health, and healing, often balancing vulnerability with resilience.
Over her career years, Fisher has performed on stages across Turtle Island and received multiple Ontario Arts Council grants and a Canada Council for the Arts grant in 2025. Her work not only highlights her talent as a performer and songwriter but also her commitment to representing Indigenous voices within contemporary music. She has spent a significant portion of her career touring First Nations and teaching music workshops to youth.

PRODUCER & FACILITATOR
Jason Makinaw also known as Jay Mak is a DJ & Producer from the Ermineskin Cree Nation in Treaty 6 Territory. He started producing and dj’ing in 2002 and went on to be a staple in the Indigenous Music scene as well as the Canadian Hip Hop scene. He’s been apart of two hip hop groups: Team Rezofficial and Winnipeg’s Most.
With Team Rezofficial, he's won a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award and had a number 1 single on Much Music’s RapCity Countdown with the single “Lonely” from the album “The World: And Everything In it”. The record went on to be a Juno nominee in the “Best Aboriginal Album” Category in 2009. The following year, Jay Mak performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and went onto win 9 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards with Winnipeg’s Most. He has since produced for artists such as War Party, Tru Rez Crew, Drezus, Wab Kinew and had two tracks featured in the movie “Fubar II”
Another passion of Jay Mak’s is working with our First Nation’s youth, he’s facilitated youth groups, coached minor hockey and mentored children since 2012. His attention to their needs and respect based approach has made him a magnet to the youth he works with. That passion has also transitioned him into his new role of Councillor for the Ermineskin Cree Nation.
WHAT WE DO
Reach For Life visits First Nation communities when invited by local or government-funded organizations such as Choose Life, Brighter Futures, or local health authorities.
We engage with youth and community members of all ages, utilizing community centers, school classrooms, and after-school programming to create safe spaces for young people to express themselves through music creation, cultural activities, and games.
We recognize that connecting with youth can be challenging, but with experienced similar journeys ourselves, we leverage our backgrounds as Indigenous individuals to navigate these challenges and strive to make a meaningful impact.

HOW WE WORK
Depending on your choice, bookings are available for either a 3-day or 5-day period. Our team will engage with your selected audience. Each booking culminates in a community celebration at the week's end, featuring 2 hours of live hip hop and pop performances, along with our renowned 3 hour community dance, showcasing live DJs and a diverse range of music to create an unforgettable gathering for your community.
Featured Music Workshop:
Join Jay Mak to craft a beat from scratch and collaborate with Drezus and Natasha on songwriting. Once completed, Classic Roots will record each song with all participants and artists. These workshops can be held in schools for students from grades 7 to 12 or during our after-school programming sessions.
Contact us today for more information and ways we can help contribute to your community.
Prevention & Intervention
Our group is committed to youth intervention and prevention, recognizing that remote communities can lead to boredom and potential negative influences among those aged 12–25. To encourage healthy choices, we prioritize the needs of young people and provide different alternative activities during each visit. Each day offers something new, aiming to create safe environments and productive ways to spend time together, helping keep youth engaged and away from trouble. Our structured activities include game nights, movie nights, sports, outdoor excursions, dance and DJ workshops, as well as songwriting and recording sessions.
Workshops Offered
Streets & Gangs:
Our program targets Grades 8–12, preparing students for post-secondary life in new cities. We teach vital safety skills, highlight city living advantages and risks, and help youth recognize signs of potential threats or targeting by gang recruitment tactics.
Warrior Spirit (Anti-Bullying):
The Warrior Spirit workshop helps students in grades 7–12 prevent bullying. Participants learn how bullying affects not only victims but also families and communities, including issues like self-isolation and hidden harm. The program offers practical strategies and discussions to promote a safer, more supportive environment for all students.
Feed the Spirit:
In this workshop, youth brainstorm how to improve their community, starting with personal growth. Young men discuss positive actions and self-pride. Girls join Natasha to talk about confidence, empowerment, and inner beauty, participating in sharing circles where everyone can speak freely in a safe space.
Songwriting Workshop:
Participants will create a beat with Jay Mak, collaborate on lyrics with Drezus and Natasha Fisher, and record and produce the song with Classic Roots. Stallone Curt will film the process, and all final materials will be sent to organizers and posted on YouTube for year-end reports. The evening workshop is open to registered attendees.
If there is a certain topic that you are interested in, please contact us and we will do everything we can to bring attention to what matters to you, your youth, and community.
CLASS TO CLASS SCHOOL VISITS
Visits will occur during regular school hours and class schedules.
We can move between classrooms or organize rotations where students from grades 6-8 or 9-12 collaborate in a single room. We also offer separate focus groups for boys and girls.
The boys will explore male roles and responsibilities while brainstorming ways to positively impact their community. Meanwhile, the girls will join Natasha to discuss various topics in a private classroom environment, allowing them to express themselves freely and comfortably among their peers in an all-female setting.
